Filters and What They Change

Two controls sit above the tabs — a time range and a source — and both apply to everything below them. The most common misreading of this dashboard is assuming a number ignores the filters. None of them do.

Time range​

Every figure on the page is for the selected range. The total cost card, the charts, and the tables all recalculate together.

What it changes: every number and every chart. What it doesn't change: your wallet balance in the top bar, which is always current regardless of what's selected here.

Days are your browser's days. A colleague in another time zone sees the same underlying data grouped differently — worth remembering before two people compare "yesterday's" totals.

Granularity​

You don't set granularity; it follows the range. A day or two is charted hourly, weeks and months daily, All Time monthly. A custom range picks whichever fits its span.

This is why a chart's shape changes when you widen the range: the same data, bucketed differently. A spike that's obvious hourly can vanish into a daily average.

What it changes: all costs, charts, and tables — and the meaning of the distribution chart. On All Sources it ranks flows; on a single flow it breaks that flow down by node. That change of meaning is the drill-down, and it's the most useful thing on the page.

What it doesn't change: the list of options itself, which only contains flows that had cost in the current time range. A flow you know exists but can't find in the dropdown didn't spend anything in the selected period — widen the range.

Selecting Document Stores also disables the Activity tab and hides the session cards. Embedding operations aren't conversations, so those views have nothing to show.

The Activity tab's tables can be narrowed to a single session. Combine it with a wide time range to follow one customer's whole history, however long ago it started.

Applying and resetting​

Picking a preset takes effect immediately. A Custom range is the exception: choose your start and end, then press Apply. The refresh button re-fetches with the current filters.

Filters persist while you switch tabs, so you can find a flow on Overview and move to Activity with the same scope still applied. They reset when you leave the dashboard.

Reading the dashboard well​

  • Compare like with like. Last 7 Days against the previous 7 is meaningful; Today against Last Month is not.
  • Narrow before you conclude. A total that looks alarming across All Sources is often one flow — check before changing anything.
  • Widen when something is missing. An empty chart usually means the range, not the absence of usage.
